ARTICLE: REVIEW – Joe Jonas Releases First Music Video Solo
Written By Kimberly on Jun 30, 2011 | Filed Under: Article, Gossip, Joe Jonas, Music | Comments Off \ Leave a comment

Turns out some boys do grow up. Joe Jonas is going rogue and branching out from his boy band image with the release of his brand new solo music video, See No More. Now I’m not a huge Jonas Brothers fan (I grew up in the reigning days of NSYNC and BSB), so I was going into this video with a pretty biased opinion that this was going to be just an extended version of him singing with his brothers. But I was pleasantly surprised. Well alright, I didn’t love it, but it’s a lot better than the boy band songs they’ve been shelling out for years. Granted, if I was a 9 year old girl I would’ve hopped right on that Brothers bandwagon and never looked back, but as a woman of 24 there’s only so much teeny-bopping that I can handle.

The video clearly portrays Joe as a more mature, extended version of his younger self. The singer is growing up (no complaints there) and has felt the unavoidable sting that comes with a broken heart. The video centers around a house catching on fire which Joe explains the concept by saying, “The idea I had was to use a house as a metaphor of being stuck in my own head because the song is obviously about the end of a relationship…I said ‘okay, if you were stuck in your own head, and you see everything that reminds you of this person, you want to get rid of everything [that reminds you of this person].’” If we all abided by this concept I think Hugh Hefner and Charlie Sheen would be homeless. Nice attempt though, Joe. We’ll get that boy band influence out of you eventually — just ask JT. The album is due out September 6 of this year. via Source: Hollywood Gossip

Either Joe Jonas is a massive pyromaniac, or he’s severely pissed off at his ex. We’ll pine deeply for him either way, but considering that a frilly, cream-colored, size 2 dress spontaneously combusts and starts the fire that basically defines the plot for Joe’s new “See No More” video, we’re going to go with the latter. Of course, we might have been able to bring you the plotline a bit earlier, but Joe’s “See No More” preview was so vague that we really had no clue what to think. Oh, and that lyric video didn’t tell us a damn thing about the plotline either, now did it Joe? (Hint: Next time, Joe, be kind. We were dying over here).

The “See No More” video begins with a shot of the smoldering-hot, yet clearly depressed and brooding Joe. Maybe he and Drake should take a spa week together? Amidst a veritable IKEA “Market Hall” of broken dishes on the floor, Joe skulks about in his empty house. The only remaining piece of furniture is a lone chair, which later supports Joe, as he stops to take a seat and look out the window while presumably fantasizing about happier times. Suddenly, we see HER. The one who broke his heart, swirling outside in the dark in front of Joe’s house wearing a (rather lovely) lavender frock. Real talk for a sec: What the hell kind of LOCA gal would mistreat a Jonas Brother? Delta, you better watch it. But alas, I digress.

Cut to Joe back inside his house, looking at that size 2 cream colored frock again. Next thing you know, said dress magically catches on fire, serving as the catalyst for the massive blaze which eventually overtakes Joe’s sad, memory-filled house.

As the video comes to a close, we see a still brokenhearted, yet somehow immaculately coiffed Joe emerge from the wreckage in a perfectly symmetrical grey cloud of smoke (which I’ve conveniently decided is a metaphor for the triumphant start of Joe’s solo career). And listen, I know that arson isn’t normally recommended. But I say good for you, JJ. Set fire to that ish, and move the hell on (to moi, of course).

ARTICLE: Joe Jonas Haunted By Former Love In ‘See No More’ Video

It feels like Joe Jonas has grown up right in front of us. And now Jonas is showing his mature side in his first-ever solo video for his single “See No More,” as the middle Jonas Brother pines over a former love in the haunting video.

Set in an empty house, Joe sits and looks at his former love’s belongings (her dress, her shoes), as he sings about how hurt he feels. He croons, “I don’t wanna wait for you/ I don’t wanna wake up thinkin’, hopin’/ You’ll get it right this time/ ‘Cause you know that you’re so cold/ I don’t wanna see no more/ And I can’t get away from you.”

Scenes of him looking around the place they once shared are cut with clips of a young woman, presumably the same one who broke his heart, dancing in the street.

Perhaps a nod to Drew Barrymore’s classic “Firestarter” (or maybe not), as Jonas looks around the house, all of the belongings begin to catch fire. Eventually his torment (and the danger of being in a house filled with flames) leads him away from his home as he walks through the smoke-filled streets of his abandoned suburban neighborhood. Things begin to blow up around him, representing a failed relationship. Her image begins to fade out as he looks around the charred house.

Jonas worked on the midtempo breakup track with Chris Brown and Brian Kennedy, and that collaboration is evidenced by the song’s clear nods to pop ‘n’ b. Before the video even dropped, Jonas was clear that he wanted the visuals to match the emotional drive of the song. “I think it’s more so about how the emotions and the feelings that you are going through and how you’re dealing with them and just displaying them in physical actions,” he shared. “So it’ll be the first really thought-out video that I’ve done.”

The song is the lead single off Jonas’ solo album, Fast Life, which is set for release on September 6.

ARTICLE: Joe Jonas brings Liverpool to a halt as hundreds of fans crowd to see him

NOT since Bieber fever ground Liverpool to a halt has the city seen quite such levels of hysteria …

The city centre came to a standstill when teenage girls, and even a few boys, heard American heartthrob Joe Jonas was in town to promote his upcoming solo single See No More.

The singer is on a tour around the UK and managed to fit a trip to pre-record a few interviews.

After word spread around social network sites Facebook and Twitter that he was here, crowds gathered outside the Radio City tower to try and catch a glimpse of their idol.

A passer-by tells Insider: “It was mad, there were young girls screaming, singing and crying in excitement.”

The madness didn’t stop there, after he was driven to the Juice FM studios on Fleet Street and around 200 fans gathered outside, blocking the road.

After security managed to get the crowds in hand and Joe spent around 20 minutes posing for pics with the starstruck fans, everything finally calmed down.

He was then whisked back to the Malmaison hotel, where he had been staying, to pick up his bags before fitting in a quick sightseeing trip to Mathew Street and a look at the Beatles Story at the Albert Dock.

Much to Joe’s disappointment, though, he had to make do with a photo outside the museum as he was in such a rush to get to Stoke for another radio interview. He’s vowed he will return to fit in more of the sights when he’s back in the UK later in the year.

After teasing the fans with the release of the song, special performances with new songs and more, Joe Jonas finally premiered his video for See No More! And actually, it’s pretty good.

The See No More video just comes to show that Joe is really taking his solo career as he should, he’s really putting a lot of effort into finding new melodies and judging by the look of this video, he has decided to take it to the next level so he can not longer be remembered as a member of Jonas Brothers, but rather, the musician Joe Jonas. Just like that.

ARTICLE: Joe Jonas “Bono Has Always Been My Inspiration”
Written By Kimberly on Jun 29, 2011 | Filed Under: Article, Gossip, Joe Jonas | Comments Off \ Leave a comment

June 29th, 2011 at 6:53 PM

Joe Jonas got some great advice when he was making his first solo album – from none other than U2 frontman Bono.

The JoBros star says he’s a huge fan of the singer so it was an honor to get tips from him when writing debut album Fast Life.

“Bono has always been my musical inspiration,” said Joe during a TV interview in the UK earlier today.

“I was writing music and doing my solo project, and he was very encouraging with the lyrics, he said, ‘Be honest. We are a band that have been trying to do that for years’.

“Having his support and being able to speak to him about my music is unreal,” said Joe excitedly.

Jonas releases Fast Life on September 5 in the UK / September 6 in the US, which includes his new single See No More.

Today 12:15 PM PDT by MARC MALKIN

It’s not every day that Joe Jonas gets to chat with Bono.

So when the 21-year-old pop star met the U2 frontman, he made sure to take full advantage of the rare moment…

“I met Bono like a year and a half ago and I asked him for advice—if you’re going to meet Bono, you got to ask him for advice,” Jonas says. “He was like, ‘Just write music that is brutally honest…Look at us, we’re a band and we have countries that are mad at us because we write stuff that’s honest and gets people really mad.’”

Not that Jonas is looking to piss off a nation or two. “Bono said, ‘Take your relationships or whatever you’re going through and just really try to make it a point to write honestly,’” he said.

As ya probably heard by now, Jonas has jumped into the solo pool.

The video for his first single, “See No More,” will exclusively premiere on E! News tonight at 7 p.m. ET/PT. And we’ll also be posting the vid here on E! Online at 8 p.m ET/5 p.m. PT.

Jonas cowrote the sing with Chris Brown. He says he had no apprehension working with the controversial hitmaker. “I think it had been a long time coming for us to try to get into the studio together,” Jonas said. “He played me like a 100 songs and I played him like 30. We were like, let’s get together and write. The next day we got together and two hours later we had ‘See No More.’”
