Joe Jonas may be gearing up for a summer tour and the release his album FastLife, but it looks like he has big screen aspirations as well.
Joe has been developing the project for months and he tells E! News he was thrilled when he heard the film was financed.
He says, “I was in Mexico City last week and my manager called me and said, ‘The movie’s financed!’ I was, like, in tears.”
But he isn’t giving much away about the plot: “The storyline is still bare bones, but I will say he (my character) has a specific dream that he wants to accomplish, and it’s the good and the bad he has to go through to get there.”
The script is being written by Robert Munic, who co-wrote Channing Tatum’s 2009 movie Fighting.

Joe Jonas is preparing for his upcoming co-headlining tour with Jay Sean and his debut solo album Fastlife.
Joe dropped by our studio today so we had to ask him about the tour. “It’s going to be a lot of fun. It’s something that I’ve been wanting to do for a while,” Joe shared. “Jay Sean is one of those artists that are doing some really great things.”
The 22-year-old gave fans a little taste of what to expect on tour when he performed recently at the iHeart Radio concert and for Live on Letterman. So what song is he most excited to perform that the fans haven’t heard yet? “There’s a song called ‘All This Time’…that’s gotta be the number one most favorite song that I’ll be looking forward to perform.”
And did you see Joe’s album cover yet? Joe told us that he chose the name Fastlife for his album because it’s the name of one of the songs on his album and his life “has been so crazy the past few weeks.”
“It’s always busy and I want to kind of bring people in and show them how much fun it is,” Joe said. “It’s crazy but it’s fun.”
Don’t forget that Joe’s album hits stores on October 11 and he will heading out on the road with JoJo and Jay Sean starting September 6. For all the tour dates and ticket information, visit joejonasmusic.com.
Are you planning on seeing Joe on tour? Are you excited for his album?

INTERVIEW BY ERIN HILL
AUGUST 24, 2011The Jonas Brothers have spent the past few years dominating the teen music scene. But after selling millions of albums and winning the hearts of fans worldwide, 22-year-old Joe Jonas is ready to break out on his own.
Jonas is set to release his solo debut album, FastLife, on Oct. 11. And before he starts his gig opening for Britney Spears on the European leg of her Femme Fatale tour later this fall, the singer will be teaming up with R&B superstar Jay Sean to co-headline a 19-city tour, kicking off Sept. 6.
Jonas talked to Parade.com about performing without his brothers, and why he’s not afraid to open up about love and heartache on his new album.
On venturing out on his own.
“It’s been really awesome to see how many people have supported me on this solo project. I’ve been doing a lot of traveling and recording over the past year, trying to do everything I can to get in the studio and work with new producers and writers and try to see what I can come up with. I’ve been really lucky to find some incredible people to work with and I’m really happy with the album.”His fans haven’t let him down.
“It has been really surprising. The fans have been loving the new music. It’s cool to see that the fans who have been with us since the beginning are the ones who are supporting me now. Even new ones are coming around who may have not listened to the Jonas Brothers before. It’s a really exciting time for me.”See photos of Nick, Joe, and Kevin through the years
On touring with Britney Spears.
“It is a dream come true. She’s the perfect headliner. I’ve always been a huge fan of her music. I can’t wait to go over to Europe. It’s going to be the greatest experience.”On performing without his brothers.
“There are times when I miss them onstage, and I wish they could be with me and be able to experience the things I’m experiencing, but it’s good for them to have this time to themselves too and kind of relax. I’m really loving this experience. To be able to get on stage on my own and travel and perform is great.”Think you know the Jonas Brothers? Take the quiz!
On Nick and Kevin’s reaction to his new album.
“They are loving it. They’ve been really supportive. They have their favorite songs already and it’s been really great to see what songs they are leaning towards and what they like.”On how his new sound compares to the Jonas Brothers.
“It’s a little more hip hop and dance. I’ve been inspired by Kanye West and Kid Cudi, who are trying new things with pop music and dance and hip hop. I’ve been able to work with some producers who have worked with people like them and I’m very happy with the outcome.”See exclusive photos of Nick Jonas
On sharing songs about past relationships with the world.
“Part of me is nervous about that. There are some songs that I definitely go, ‘Ok, I hope people don’t read into it too much.’ It’s a very honest state of mind to go into when you’re writing a record because you want to be completely honest. A lot of the songs are fun and just about having a good time, but there are songs in there that are deep and I get more into my personal life. I want to do my best to be as honest as possible.”On his experience as a celebrity mentor in the Acuvue 1-DAY Contest, where he worked with Brittany B. of Atwater, Calif., to help her further her dream of supporting the Special Olympics.
“It was really fun to spend the day with Brittany and encourage her to raise money and awareness. Its cool to see young people out there wanting to live out their dreams — and it’s not about music or acting — she wants to give back and that’s incredible. Spending time with her and seeing what a believer she is has inspired me.”On his personal mentors.
“My dad has always been my biggest supporter. Musician wise, I would say Bono has always been a big one for me. He’s such an incredible inspiriaton in terms of giving back and he’s an amazing musician, too.”

ALSO, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO THE LOVELY, MR. AND MRS. JONAS!!!

Joe Jonas
You can hear it in the first electric moments of “See No More” – Joe Jonas has discovered his new voice. His debut single as a solo artist is as infectious as it is heartbreaking, danceable as it is soulful and comes at you with a sound that is not what anyone expected. Co-written with Chris Brown and producer Brian Kennedy, “See No More” has already earned solid reviews from both fans and music critics with Entertainment Weekly saying “the JoBro lead heartthrob sheds teen-pop tremors for sensitive-guy cool on this sultry midtempo torch song.” After six years writing and recording with his brothers Nick and Kevin, Jonas says that working on an album on his own was “liberating…in a way, but also a challenge, to finally be able to say 100% of what I wanted in a song.”Jonas started working on solo material in early 2010 with the intention of combining the sounds and atmospheres of music he loves the most – Pop/Dance, Hip-Hop, Techno and House Music. “I wanted to make this album something a club DJ would listen to,” says Jonas. He teamed up with hit-making producers Danja (Britney Spears, Madonna, P!nk) and Rob Knox (Leona Lewis, Rihanna), who helped Joe create a sound that reveals his true musical personality. Sometimes that means he’s ready for a night out, as heard on harder-edged tracks like “Blacklight” and “Fast Life.” Elsewhere, on rhythmic ballads including “I’m Sorry” and “See No More,” his soaring voice is built over dramatic melodies to reveal a vulnerability not heard before from the 21-year old singer.
Throughout the year and into the Spring of 2011, Joe traveled to Miami and New York to work in the studio with Danja, and would return to Los Angeles to work with Knox and songwriter James Fauntleroy. “I’ve written with everybody,” says Fauntleroy, “and a lot of them have no clue what to write – they’re not really music fans or they’re not analyzing why a song sounds a certain way. But Joe, he can WRITE. Working with him, the songs come so fast and easy.” Adds Knox, “Joe knows what he wants, which really made this not a job at all.” The three hit it off so well that they’re talking about writing songs together for other artists.
When they weren’t busy recording, Jonas would find inspiration checking out DJs in Los Angeles and Miami and immersing himself in club culture. “We’d go out and just experience what every club was about,” Joe says. “We’d listen to certain DJs and see how they worked the crowd. It was so new to me. What was so cool was that the music and vibe would vary from city to city – Miami clubs and LA clubs are totally different. But with this project, I wanted to find a sound that was universal.”
Jonas acknowledges that turning 21 last year had a huge impact on the sound and direction of the album. “It has a lot to do with coming of age,” he says. “You’re older, you’re able to go out with your friends, kick back, dance, whatever you wanted… but just get out there and have a good time. And this is the music I associate with that feeling – it’s the sound that lifts me up.” Jonas says that when he tours as a solo artist later this year, he hopes to bring the energy of a nightclub experience on the road with him. “I want the live show be a party, as if you could bring that kickin’ club vibe to everyone coming out to the show,” he says.
The biggest breakthrough he had during the past year working on the album was realizing he had to be willing to take chances. “Being able to grow as an artist is really key,” Jonas says. “I actually got to meet Mick Fleetwood in Hawaii recently and the piece of advice he gave me was: ‘Take your fans on a journey, musically, and always test yourself by trying new stuff, so your fans ears will be accustomed hearing fresh things.’ That really stuck with me when I was making this record. I thought, ‘I’m not going to be nervous about trying new things, and I tried to keep that in mind the whole time.”
Jonas says he knew he needed to push himself when it came to writing lyrics as well. It was time to step out and truly say what was on his mind. “I realized that music is my one opportunity I have to just get out there and say something that I’ve been holding back. A song is like a safe zone, and if I need to get something off my chest, music is what I turn to. So I’ve been forcing myself to write really honest lyrics, which is not always easy. But this time, there’s holding nothing back. This is what I’m all about now.”

The mentors’ own stories represent common themes in young persons’ lives:
Never Giving Up:
“One Day isn’t just the name of my song, it’s an anthem for anyone whose dreams might seem bigger than life or unattainable, but they don’t give up,” says celebrity mentor Charice. “If you have that spirit, you can succeed.”Doing What You Love:
“I’d love to work with an aspiring musician or singer,” says celebrity mentor Joe Jonas. “Even when I was acting, music was always very important to me, to my family and I just can’t imagine not doing it. I’m excited to help someone focus on what steps they can take today to turn their passion into a career.”Overcoming Adversity:
“I wanted to fit in and make friends at my new school, but unfortunately I was teased and known as ‘chicken legs,’” says celebrity mentor Allyson Felix. “One day, I decided to try out for the school’s track and field team and ever since I’ve been showing the world what my ‘chicken legs’ can do. I’d love to work with someone to show them that great success and confidence can be found where you least expect it.”Finding Your Focus:
“Trying to be the best at everything is fun, but you can’t be exceptional at any one thing until you find your focus,” says celebrity mentor Sterling Knight. “One day it hit me that acting was what I really wanted to do with my life and having that focus still drives me to do better. I think it’s a good lesson for a young person who’s at that pivotal point in figuring out who they are, what they want to do.”Accepting Yourself:
“Like most young women, the years of glasses, braces, pimples and fashion drama were hard on me. When I finally got my braces off and got contact lenses, I felt better, more confident. The funny thing is, I noticed that people weren’t treating me any differently,” says celebrity mentor Meaghan Martin. “I realized that confidence comes from within and I had the power to feel good all along. That’s an important message to share.”*Awarded in the form of a $460.00 Visa Gift Card, which can be used toward ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses.
