‘She reminds me of my best friend,’ Minaj says of her Femme Fatale tourmate.

Britney Spears is certainly at a level of fame and success that if she wanted to pull diva antics she easily could. According to the artists accompanying Brit on her Femme Fatale Tour, however, that’s not really her thing.

Spears has managed to take some time out of her busy schedule to get her rotating group of opening acts, which has included DJs (Nervo, DJ Pauly D) pop acts (Jessie and the Toy Boys, Joe Jonas) and a pretty big hip-hop star (Nicki Minaj). And MTV News got the inside scoop of what it’s like to hang with Brit on the road.

“She reminds me of my best friend, which is really, really weird,” Minaj said. “So, whenever I see her, I feel at peace for some strange reason.”

Joe Jonas joined the tour for one show in New Jersey last week, a little teaser of his multi-city jaunt with Spears in Europe for the next leg of the tour. The JoBro hadn’t seen Britney backstage but his memory of his encounter with her at the 2008 VMAs was still fresh in his mind.

“I haven’t had words with her recently, but I’m looking forward to this tour,” he said. “When I did meet her, she was a really sweet, really kind person. It’s kind of surreal to meet somebody like her. When you meet her you’re like, ‘Wow that’s amazing, she’s great.’ ”

Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale Tour is a glittering, over-the-top spectacle, complete with multiple costume changes, set changes, and a fleet of backup dancers and stage performers. Another major part of the tour is the other acts who are on the road with the star. MTV News caught up with tourmates Joe Jonas, Nicki Minaj and “Drop Dead Beautiful” rapper Sabi on their New Jersey tour stop, and they gave us an inside look at what it takes to get this show on the road.

“Behind the scenes, there’s a lot of security, lots of salad and lots of cranberries and almonds, lots of dancers stretching,” Spears’ tourmate Minaj joked from her dressing room. “There’s also a lady that comes every day and gives massages. She has like a massage chair and every time I go out there, she’s giving some bloody bloke a massage,” she teased in her signature British accent.

Brit’s show isn’t the only one that incorporates multimedia displays. Nicki’s opening slot goes above and beyond thanks to video packages and costume changes. “Well, definitely I wanted my set to be more than an opening act ’cause, you know, I did that already,” she said. “I always like to raise the bar for myself and that’s what I did. I think it’s important to give people what they paid for.”

Sabi said that hours before the show happens, there’s lots of hustle and bustle to make sure everyone is in the right state of mind. “It’s crazy to see how wardrobe is rushed from one location to the next, or if there’s something wrong with the shoes or there’s extra shoes and dancers need massages and the catering’s not here till 5 and we have to eat at 5 o’clock and everybody rushes to catering,” she explained of all the hubbub.”It’s pretty fun and hectic back here, but it’s dope.”

During the show, Sabi hits the stage alongside Brit to perform their Femme Fatale track and she says that being up there in front of the sea of pop fans is “kind of hard to describe,” adding that, “it’s bananas. I get the biggest rush … it’s crazy.

“I’ve learned how she just delivers. There can be a bajillion things going on and she just delivers every time,” Sabi said of Spears. “I’m learning the professionalism of it.”

Jonas kicked off his time with Spears in his home state of New Jersey and said that he was stoked to be there. “[I'm] very excited right now. I can’t wait,” he said in his dressing room. “Getting up on the stage felt really comfortable, so I think it’s gonna be really fun. Like everyone out there, I’m a fan of Britney, and it’s New Jersey, so it couldn’t be more perfect.”

Nicki certainly has plenty of pop music crossover appeal and says that performing in front a pop crowd has worked well for her. “Honestly, it’s been epic,” she said. “They have an amazing spirit, a great vibe, and it’s love every night, and I would not have traded this experience for anything else in the world.”

Joe Jonas’ ‘Just In Love With You’ Video Will Leave Fans ‘Shocked’
Singer says he was ‘really comfortable’ with his leading lady on set.

Joe Jonas was recently in Paris shooting the music video for “Just in Love With You,” from his solo debut Fast Life, due in October. He made his way around the City of Lights for the clip and told MTV News at the New Jersey Femme Fatale Tour stop that he always wanted to have the chance to film one of his videos in the European city.

“I think they didn’t know what was going on, ’cause I didn’t announce I was doing a video,” he said of fan response to the upcoming clip. “I love Paris — it’s one of my favorite cities — and so to shoot a video in Paris was a dream come true.”

While he got to cross something off his bucket list, being on set wasn’t as easy as he would have liked. “I was the only one who spoke English on the whole set,” he recalled. “So many times I’m like, ‘Are we going?’ It was a lot of fun. I think fans are going to be shocked and excited to see the video.”

The middle JoBro caught fans’ attention when he was spotted getting romantic on the “Just in Love With You” set with a lovely French model. “She’s really sweet,” he said of his leading lady. “She lives in Paris. Her name’s Angele. Really great, really nice. We were really comfortable with each other on camera.”

The video will follow up Jonas’ fiery clip for “See No More,” but he said there was a time when it could have gone the other way around. “It’s the right follow-up [because] for a while, it was between [the two for first single] and I struggled with which one to go with for a while,” he said. “But I feel like ‘See No More’ is a good setup and ‘Just in Love With You’ is a fun-vibe song.”

Joe Jonas burned the house down in his “See No More” video, but things are looking a little less dramatic on the set of his latest clip, for his single, “Just in Love With You.”

A photo of Joe on set in Paris hit the streets and in it, the 21-year-old is seen sharing a kiss with his model co-star at a City of Lights train station. The couple was also spotted getting cuddly on a bridge in the famed French city.

The track is a midtempo tune about fighting to keep the one you love that Jonas has been singing at various live performances over the last couple of months. “When I tell you that I would never leave you/ Do you hear what I say?” he croons, before proclaiming his feelings in the chorus: “You are worth too much to lose/ Even if you’re still confused/ Girl, I’m just in love with you.”

“See No More” and “Just in Love With You” show both sides of falling in and out of love. When MTV News spoke to Jonas earlier this summer about his debut solo album, Fast Life, which drops in September, he explained that the album would certainly show the many facets of love.

“It was scary in the beginning just because I knew this is my one opportunity to show people my journal: the good and bad of every relationship I’ve been in, you know, [and] what I look for [in relationships],” he said.

“It was really, really cool to have those experiences [from] all my life [and] to be able to write about it and on my own,” he further explained. “And also on the music side, it was a fun process. It was almost an evolution process, because in the beginning it sounded nothing like it is now. It was totally different and very singer/songwriter, and I naturally love dance music and urban, hip-hop music, so I wanted to be able to make something new for them to hear.”

Joe Jonas is known to have a swarm of fans around him. It was no different on Monday when he was in Paris. The one-third part of the Jonas Brothers band was in town to shoot his latest film project, a video for Just in Love With You, when the fans caught wind of where he was staying.

Always respectful, but definitely present, the fans started gathering around his hotel’s location in hopes of a possible glimpse. What they got, in true Jonas spirit, was autographs and photos. All three Brothers are extremely generous to their fans and take more time than most celebrities do to accommodate the audience. From photos to autographs, almost everyone who showed up took home got a chance to say hello.

The work must go on and Joe Jonas did actually make it over to the set where the filming of Just in Love With You happened with a gorgeous backdrop. The video, slated to come out in the weeks ahead, will have an unfamiliar face as the actress placing Jonas’ girlfriend was unknown to everyone, including the fans.

Take a look at the video clip of all the young ladies waiting outside Joe Jonas’ hotel. Friendly as ever, it appears he signed and took pictures as he headed to the car.

SALT LAKE CITY — Joe Jonas of The Jonas Brothers musical group visited Salt Lake City Tuesday to promote his most recent project.

While he was here — in front of screaming girls, of course — he encouraged everyone to read with our incentive program Read Today.

Jonas revealed that he is reading a lot of music and writing a lot of lyrics these days — both important literacy skills. But he mainly answered questions from gals who won a radio contest.

The girls asked him what he liked to do in his spare time and if he finds time to go out on dates. For the record, he likes to watch movies and he doesn’t have much time for dating.

For those wondering: Yes, The Jonas Brothers will produce another album after Joe’s solo project runs its course.
