Posted by TV Land Editor Monday, September 12th, 2011Guest Stars Visiting “Cleveland” This Season Include Don Rickles, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Kathie Lee Gifford, Joe Jonas, Sean Hayes, John Mahoney, Sandra Bernhard and Laura San Giacomo .
Season Premieres Wednesday, November 30 10PM/9C Immediately Followed By The Series Premiere Of “The Exes”
TV Land announced today that the network’s hit original sitcom, “Hot in Cleveland,” begins production on its third season this week! The series was just awarded a Creative Arts Emmy® Award for Outstanding Art Direction For A Multi-Camera Series (Michael Andrew Hynes and Maralee Zediker) over the weekend. Betty White was also recently nominated for an Emmy® Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on the sitcom. “Hot in Cleveland” will have its season three premiere on Wednesday, November 30 at 10PM/9C, immediately followed by the series premiere of TV Land’s newest original sitcom, “The Exes”
Guest stars lined up for the season include Kathie Lee Gifford (“Today With Kathie Lee & Hoda”), Sandra Bernhard (“Roseanne”), Laura San Giacomo (“Just Shoot Me”), Gilles Marini (“Sex and the City”) and many more. Sean Hayes (“Will & Grace”), who serves as executive producer of the show, will also guest star. “Hot in Cleveland” will also see the return of some familiar faces in returning guest stars such as Don Rickles (“Toy Story”) as Elka’s husband, Bobby, who was long thought to be dead; Jennifer Love Hewitt (“Ghost Whisperer”) as Victoria’s daughter, Emmy; Joe Jonas (“JONAS”) as Melanie’s son, Will; John Mahoney (“Frasier”), playing a waiter who gets a little too involved in his customer’s personal lives.
Last we left the ladies, Bobby – Elka’s presumed-dead husband – turned up at Elka’s wedding right before she was about to say “I do” to Fred (Buck Henry). Meanwhile, Melanie, Victoria and Joy were recovering from a wicked night of drinking at the bachelorette party the previous night, when Melanie competed in a one-woman wet t-shirt contest, and Victoria and Joy took some vows of their own. Season three enters into the aftermath of this perfect recipe for disaster.
Don’t miss the hilarious Season three premiere Wednesday, November 30 10PM/9C immediately followed by the series premiere of “The Exes”. In the meantime, stay connected on Facebook and Twitter for exclusive updates from the cast as they shoot season three!
‘Hot in Cleveland’ scoop: Sandra Bernhard and Kathie Lee Gifford to guest star — EXCLUSIVE
Sep 12 2011 08:00 AM ET
by Tanner StranskySome new folks are headed to Cleveland: Comedienne Sandra Bernhard and talk-show maven Kathie Lee Gifford have recently signed on to guest star in the upcoming third season of TV Land’s original comedy Hot in Cleveland, EW can exclusively confirm, and we’ve got some details about their roles.
Both women will actually be appearing in roles with which they’re rather familiar. Bernhard is set to play the love interest of Melanie’s (Valerie Bertinelli) lesbian sister, which hearkens to the role she played on Roseanne years ago. Her episode has yet to be scheduled.
Meanwhile, Today fourth hour host Kathie Lee Gifford will appear in the show’s Nov. 30 premiere as the host of Cleveland’s local talk show, The Babble, which the self-obsessed former soap star Victoria (Wendie Malick) is hoping to join as co-host. In fact, Victoria gets wind that The Babble is looking for a Rosie O’Donnell or Sara Gilbert type for the show and makes a play to become a permanent host on the show by announcing her recent, drug-induced marriage to Joy (Jane Leeves) as a way to make a splash. Gifford mentioned her Cleveland guest role on Today last week, when she said she was reading the script and “had to go to the ladies room, it was so funny.”
The first part of Hot in Cleveland‘s third season — that’s expected to be 12 of the 22 episodes ordered — will premiere Nov. 30 at 10 p.m. and will be followed by the series premiere of new sitcom The Exes, which is about three divorced men who live together (Donald Faison, Wayne Knight, and David Alan Basche) and their divorce attorney (Kristen Johnston) who lives across the hall from them.
Cleveland‘s third season will focus on whether Elka (Betty White) will indeed stay with Fred (Buck Henry), who she was supposed to marry in the season finale before learning that her first husband (played by Don Rickles) was still alive. It will also delve further into the backstories of Joy, Melanie, and Victoria. Family, too, is a big theme, as Victoria’s daughter, played by Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Melanie’s son, played by Joe Jonas, are both set to return.

One might expect a product of the Disney musical machine, a Jonas Brother, and a middle child to not have the sort of sexy swagger and confidence Joe Jonas brought to the Live on Letterman stage. A flirtatious look in his sparkling brown eyes, Jonas lyrically announced that he had come to “shut this thing down.” And that he did.
Wearing a grey suede-looking suit, black patent sneakers, and his infamous coy smile, Jonas had an edgy, but still youthful polish–perfectly enticing to the hordes of screaming young girls in the audience.
Jonas’ first song “Love Slayer” had a groovy Prince-esque R&B backdrop accented by synthy electro-pop–quite the deviation from his normal pop-rock vocals in the Jonas Brothers.
Besides his new-found sex appeal, lyrics like “She’s a killer/Most likely to be on my worst behavior/She’ll have you up all night/But I’m ready to stay up,” show that Jonas is fast on his way to become a strong, independent, and slightly cheeky young man.
Even though he was undoubtedly melting hearts with “Just In Love With You,” the song’s lyrics show that Jonas isn’t afraid of tackling the more mature topics of the quintessential love song–like the volatile “break-up to make-up” scenario highlighted in lyrics like “dark love and they say it sounds crazy /love’s equally more wild when you’re angry.”
In between “Just In Love With You” and “Fast Life,” Jonas did a dance breakdown with his two back-up singers, going straight into “Fast Life,” an uptempo party-jam with a ’90s-era boy band sound.
After his perfectly in sync choreographed cardio session, Jonas took a break from his more high-spirited song and dance by sitting on a stool and singing the down-tempo broken-hearted ballad, “I’m Sorry.”
The pain in his voice was evident while he crooned frank, but heartbreaking lyrics that we all can sympathize with “I finally found the truth/I was using you.”
The highlight of the performance, which resulted in about forty-five seconds of straight screaming from the eighty-percent female audience was when Jonas told the audience, including those watching at home, “For all those who are watching on the internet, I am going to play some Jonas Brothers for you…But I’m going to need you guys to sing along.”
Jonas then proceeded to sing a brief Jonas Brothers medley of “When You Look Me In The Eyes” and “Hello Beautiful” that had pretty much everyone in the audience singing word-for-word.
Jonas definitely felt the audience’s love as he gave a huge smile and sincerely thanked them for all their support during his musical career–especially his solo ambitions: “I’m very happy that you guys are supporting me on this solo venture…I couldn’t do it without you guys.”
On cue, Jonas announced that he was going to sing more of his new stuff and dived straight into the bad-girl love-anthem, “Kleptomaniac.”
Judging from the lyrics of his new stuff, Jonas likes his girls with a little edge, even one without some gypsy predilections, one that “can kill you with a smile/she’ll she you coming from a mile/so don’t leave nothing in your pocket.”
Closing out the show with his emotional heart-scorching single, “See No More,” a sentiment that his audience definitely didn’t agree with. In his video for the song, Jonas burned his proverbial house of love down; similarly, that’s just what he did on Live On Letterman, presented by AT&T, re-think possible.
Joe Jonas burned the house down with his smoldering eyes, slick stage presence, and boyish baritone.

Joe Jonas hits up Much Music’s New.Music.Live in Toronto on Friday afternoon (July 8).
The 21-year-old musician is making his rounds across the globe promoting his upcoming album, Fast Life and single “See No More.”
Joe dished to ET Canada earlier in the day about the fans reaction to his new solo career, “They’ve been really receptive. It seems like the fans, out of them all, have been happy just to hear new music in general from anybody in the Jonas Brothers.
“That’s exciting, luckily we live in a day and age where there’s just twitter and Facebook, so you can see reaction right away,” Joe continued. “I’ve been able to see my fans say, ‘You know what, I love “See No More”‘ and if they don’t like it, I’m able to know right away too. It’s cool to see positive reaction right now.”
