By Kara WarnerJet-setting actor/musician Joe Jonas has once again made time in his busy schedule for a little stop through Cleveland — “Hot in Cleveland,” that is, the popular show on TV Land starring Valerie Bertinelli, Betty White, Wendie Malick and Jane Leeves.
Jonas has a guest-starring role on the sitcom as the wayward son of Bertinelli’s character. MTV News was lucky enough to visit the set of “Cleveland” on the day Jonas filmed his second guest spot, which premieres Wednesday night (January 25) at 10 p.m. ET. When we caught up with him for a few minutes between scenes, he shared some details about his return to the show.
“Being back on the show, [my character Will is] engaged, and I have to be engaged to Jennifer Love Hewitt, which is really nice,” he said. “We’re both sons and daughters of characters on the show, and we show up and surprise everybody. They don’t expect us to be engaged.”
Jonas said that while it was fun to work with Hewitt, their characters’ engagement doesn’t exactly last for long. “Both of our characters are really different. I think I’m a little bit blinded by the fact that she may not be the perfect person for me. I think we last probably less than Kim Kardashian in this,” he joked.
Long engagements or no, Jonas said he loves his time on the show and would be happy to come back any time.
“I would love to be able to return again. The first episode when I left, people were like, ‘Are you going to be back soon?’ and I said, ‘I think so.’ I don’t think my character passed away, so I think we’re good. I don’t die in this episode either,” he added. “So I’m still around, so I could definitely come back if they’d like me to. I have a fun time being on the set and I love the cast; it’s kind of like a family.”

BROTHER TO BROTHER: Sitting in the front row at Calvin Klein’s men’s show, Joe Jonas said he was looking forward to attending the opening night of his brother Nick’s latest Broadway show, “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” at the end of the month.
“I plan to spend a lot more time in New York as we’re also going to start working on a new album together,” added Jonas, who reminisced about his first Broadway experience as a teenager in “La Bohème.” “Opera was new to me, I didn’t speak Italian,” he laughed.
Fashion’s favorite violinist, Charlie Siem, said that after the show he would be heading back to London to perform a concert at the city’s Science Museum, which will be aired on PBS. “It’s this special musical show that will feature space images from NASA,” he said.
Casual observers slipping into the Hotel Principe di Savoia this weekend would have noticed they were not the only casual observers. All around the lobby and lounge, groups of young girls, ordering one bottle of water among them, sat with their eyes glued on the front door, hoping for a sighting of the performer Joe Jonas, who was in town, once again, to attend the Calvin Klein men’s show during Milan Fashion Week.
The scene was actually less fraught with expectation on Sunday night at the show and a party after it, where Mr. Jonas, after seeing the collection designed by Italo Zucchelli, said he personally preferred the oversize sweatshirts trimmed with crocodile and a few suits.
MILAN MEN’S FASHION
Reports from the men’s shows in Milan.
Mr. Zucchelli, standing next to him at a restaurant just off the Via Montenapoleone, was describing to guests the many fittings it took to perfect his camel jackets and a navy double-breasted coat that was so oversize as to approach cape territory.
“I never use this word,” Mr. Zucchelli said, “but they were classics.”
Mr. Jonas, wearing a perforated shirt that had the texture of a reptile, said that when he shops: “I like to wear something a little different or a little bit bizarre, to have people ask you what you are wearing, you know. I’ve always been into fashion and always tried to put it into my everyday life.”
Also at the party was Charlie Siem, a strikingly good-looking classical musician with puppy dog eyes, like Darren Criss with a violin. Mr. Siem, one could argue, has been fairly calculating in his embrace of the fashion world to further his career, befriending the photographer Mario Testino, appearing at runway shows and modeling for Dunhill. He seems to be well aware of his hotness and is known for raising his eyebrows seductively during performances.
“I’ve been practicing for many years to get them this high, with eyebrow bench presses,” Mr. Siem said.
“I think appearance is important if you are a live performer,” he said. “You certainly have to be aware of the presence you have on stage and the visual impact you have.”
Lately he’s been wearing Calvin Klein suits, he said, “because I like things to be very simple – muted colors, not too many colors – so I guess dull and conservative. Calvin Klein is very much that way.”
Catching himself quickly, he went into reverse.
“Not dull!” Mr. Siem said. “Very clean lines and smart.”
Joe Jonas as some of his best friends, Kyle, Brandon, and Tony headed to Las Vegas, Nevada yesterday to celebrate the New Year. Joe Jonas started off his Vegas trip by heading to the UFC Fight (using a SUV LIMO… balling!). Tony posted some videos on his twitter of them on their plane right to Vegas. Wilmer Valderrama was also on the plane with them.

Joe Jonas at Saks Fifth Avenue, for Fashion’s Night Out
Photo: Getty ImagesTeenage girls may not know it, but menswear designer Simon Spurr has something that they want: Joe Jonas’s cell phone number.
The Englishman and the pop star got to know one another after Jonas’s stylists showed him Spurr’s clothes, according to Spurr. A friendship developed and now “there’s tons of texts, we’re always in contact with one another,” Spurr said.
The BFFs were reunited Thursday evening at Saks Fifth Ave, where Jonas performed a few songs on behalf of Spurr and Fashion’s Night Out. A crowd of about 400—mostly young, mostly female—fans screamed along as he took the stage on the menswear on the seventh floor of the venerable department store.
The purpose of Fashion’s Night Out is to get people shopping. But Spurr, who climbed the ranks through Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren, wasn’t sure that the Jonas event was driving sales.
“I think the majority of people here are here to see Joe,” Spurr said with a laugh. “I don’t know how much they are shopping the men’s floor at Saks.”
Even so, he said he supports the efforts of Vogue Editor Anna Wintour with Fashion’s Night Out to encourage shopping among the masses.
“The economy is doing what it’s doing, double dipping or whatever,” Spurr said. “So to get people out shopping again or attempt to get them shopping can only be good for the retailers, the industry, the brands, ultimately.”
Jonas, who attended the Calvin Klein show in February, says he respects the time put into a runway show, equating it to performing a live concert. “For me, I understand a little bit of it. I put months of pressure and time into an hour and a half show,” Jonas said. “I can’t imagine what they do, with last minute changes. It’s exciting and it’s a dream-come-true to be a part of this.”
Joe Jonas talks with Access about his love of fashion and shopping at Fashion’s Night Out at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City. So, which item of clothing does he collect?
