Multi-platinum recording artist Joe Jonas made it big with the “Jonas Brothers,” a pop-rock band made up of him and his two brothers, Nick and Kevin. Now he’s releasing his first solo album titled “Fastlife.”
Last week Joe talked to us about the album… which comes out in two weeks… and he also sang for us.

Jonas Brother member and new solo act Joe Jonas was slapped with plagiarism allegations for his steamy Parisian-shot music video ‘Just in Love’ upon its release. Now, the creative minds behind the visuals have responded to the accusations that their music video stole from indie flick ‘For Lovers Only.’

Film writer and actor Mark Polish and his film-director brother Michael Polish are convinced Jonas and his video director Jaci Judelson ripped off themes from their 2010 film for his ‘Just In Love’ video, which depicts the pop star parading his hot romance with French model Angele Sassy all over the streets — and hotel bedrooms — of Paris.

“It’s very disheartening that a fellow director would go to those lengths to copy ‘For Lovers Only’ and not credit us. If they had said our film was their inspiration, we would have been flattered,” Mark said. But Kim Dellara, an executive producer at HSI Productions, which made Jonas’ video, is defending the singer and insisting the video’s theme is consistent with the previous work of its director, who has lived in Paris for 20 years.

In a post on the company’s Facebook page, she wrote, “We’ve received considerable interest in the music video for Joe Jonas’ single, ‘Just in Love’ and it is apparently being compared to a film called ‘For Lovers Only.’ Until yesterday we had never heard of the independent film, but judging from the trailer online it is clear both the video and the film are set in Paris and shared inspiration from French ’60s New Wave cinema. Each of the films includes situations that are universal in love stories of this genre.”

“We take exception to the notion that the video in any way infringed upon the content of the film in question. Jaci Judelson is known for a unique and large body of work that pre-dates this film by several years and this video is consistent with the style and content of her previous work. The concept for ‘Just in Love’ was inspired and driven by the lyrics of the song and by its director having lived in Paris for nearly 20 years,” the statement continued.

Seems like the whole rip-off allegations trend is really catching on these days. Rihanna was sued by David LaChapelle for her ‘S&M’ video, Justin Bieber narrowly dodged a Marc Jacobs suit for his perfume bottle design, Lady Gaga was blasted for copying Bette Midler’s stage act, and the Gaga Madonna comparisons are still going strong. At 22, Joe Jonas has already experienced the heights of music industry success. His days as co-lead singer for the wholesome, Disneyfied rock band Jonas Brothers exposed him to hordes of screaming girls around the world and culminated in the rare Cowboys Stadium gig in 2009. Yeah, those brothers were big.

But fans of boy bands tend to grow up fast and leave their old obsessions behind without much warning. That might explain why House of Blues was only about half full on Thursday night when the middle Jonas performed tunes from his upcoming solo album.

The several hundred teens and young adults who took in the school-night show still displayed plenty of passion for the singer, so all was not lost. But Joe — charismatic and talented as he may be — will need to step up his game if he dreams of making Timberlake waves.

A drummer, keyboardist, three dancers and fancy stand-up lighting rigs backed the singer as he tore through a handful of electro-leaning dance-pop songs from his debut album Fastlife, out Oct. 11. Jonas was in good spirits and seemingly glad to be in front of a home crowd — he and his brothers relocated to Westlake in 2008.

He played the part of suave pop crooner convincingly enough during the short set, driving girls crazy with well-choreographed hip thrusts. His new tunes, including recent singles “See No More” and “Just In Love,” were danceable but somewhat unimaginative, melody-wise. Things got worse with a diary-ripped ballad called “Sorry” — most likely about ex Taylor Swift — before getting a little better with party-ready fare — a funked-up version of the JoBros’ “Burning Up,” a cover of Chris Brown’s “Beautiful People.”

Perhaps ol’ Joe will find more mojo when he joins Britney Spears on a European tour this fall. He’s got potential. At the very least, he outperformed opening act Jay Sean by a mile — we didn’t catch an earlier set by the gifted singer JoJo.

Sean, a high-voiced British singer known for the Lil Wayne-featuring radio hit “Down,” seemed more concerned with pandering to the crowd between songs than pushing out decent vocals or choreography. Doesn’t he know the deal about high-school girls? Their screams don’t always mean there’s something good happening on stage. Sometimes they just need to scream.

Joe Jonas hung out at hot spot Public House Chicago last night drinking off the bar’s personal table taps. Yes, you actually have your own tap and can pour anything from beer to vodka right from your own booth. Now, that is a VIP way to party!

Joe was in the Windy City for his concert at The House of Blues with Jay Sean and JoJo. Jonas’ new CD “Fast Life” will hit stores on October 11th.

UK Premiere Of ‘Just In Love’ Video!

Here it is! The official video for Joe’s 2nd solo single ‘Just In Love’ has landed and you can watch it now on his Vevo Channel.

Joe told E! News, “This is a song I wrote when I was going through a relationship with somebody. She was arguing with me, and all I could do was say ‘Listen, I love you, but we don’t need to go through this’. So this is called Just In Love”.

After several teasers that were enough to make us pull our hair out with anticipation, the clouds have parted and Joe Jonas finally released the full version of his new video, “Just In Love.” And we’re happy to say it does not disappoint! There are several kissing shots! And shirtless shots! And a bathtub shot!!!! I said A BATHTUB SHOT. (BRB, dead.)

“Just In Love” is your standard love story music video, if your standard love story includes Joe Jonas and a French model frolicking all over Paris, wearing really expensive clothes and never having to go to work. The couple, who in real life isn’t actually in love (AT LEAST THEY BETTER NOT BE), is seen doing super romantic things all over the most romantic city in the world — dancing down the avenues at night, sipping coffee in cafes while wearing sunglasses, and spraying each other with squirt guns while SITTING IN A BATHTUB. I’m probably not the only one that audibly gasped when I saw this part of the video, but according to Joe, he and the model were not naked: “No, I’m not naked and she’s not naked… but I think it’s a little bit…older than anything I’ve done before.” I don’t know, Joe. Pretty sure people don’t wear clothes in a bathtub.

But alas, you know how love stories go — one minute you’re driving around France in an antique sports car and the next they’re never replacing the toilet paper roll. In other words, Joe and his leading lady part ways, and all they have left are the memories of THAT BATHTUB SCENE OMG their torrid love affair. You can cry on our shoulder, Joe. We also have a bathtub, just FYI.
