Disney product Joe Jonas was rumoured to be supporting Britney Spears on her European tour this year, after it was confirmed that he would share the stage with her at a show in New Jersey – and Stereoboard can now confirm these rumours as true.

The singer and guitar player, who is focusing on his solo career rather than his brotherly trio the Jonas Brothers, posted on Twitter a few days ago revealing that he would be supporting the popstar at one of her US Femme Fatale tour shows in New Jersey on Friday.

Twitter was packed with fans talking about the chance to see both Joe Jonas and Britney Spears at the same gig, and now their prayers have been answered as Joe will be Britney’s warm-up act on selected dates. He has been confirmed to play at Dublin’s 02 Arena on October 24th, while other dates have yet to be confirmed.

Joe has been promoting his solo career for the last month and has taken a huge step by supporting the ‘Toxic’ singer at two of her Femme Fatale dates. His debut solo single ‘See No More’ came out last Friday, and his full debut album ‘Fast Life’ comes out on September 5th – plenty of time for fans to learn the words to his songs before he graces the stage with Britney later this year.

Joe Jonas Joining Britney Spears on European Tour

Fantasy turns into reality: As a kid, Joe Jonas had a poster of Britney Spears hanging on his wall.

Now, the 21-year-old singer will be joining his childhood crush on her European tour starting Oct. 16, he tells PEOPLE.

“It’s a dream come true,” says Jonas, who will be opening for Spears and promoting his upcoming solo album Fastlife, to be released Oct. 11.

“She was the first girl I ever had a poster on my wall of, and her album was the first CD I ever bought,” says Jonas. “It’s so funny to think I had that on my wall and here I am about to perform with her.”

Jonas first met Spears, 29, at an awards show a few years ago and says, “She’s a very sweet lady.”

He’ll join Spears’s Femme Fatale tour on Aug. 5 for one date in the U.S., then open 10 shows in Europe, with performances in Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Ireland and the United Kingdom.

“I’m really looking forward to being part of this,” he says.

“I’ll be playing more music than I have the past few times I’ve performed live so far,” he adds. “It’s going to be really fun to perform some of my music from the album.”
